Grading : Lord's Nova Balsam
 

Perhaps the most significant factor in Lord's success has been our use of the strict, official government legislated Nova Scotia Christmas Tree Grading Standards.

Our graders are trained and licensed by the provincial government who also supervise and spot-check throughout the season.

Every tree is stood, turned, graded and tagged after cutting.

SELECT [single ties] FANCY [single ties]
Select : Single Ties Fully sheared, truly premium trees. Good on all four faces, virtual 100% density.
One minor flaw allowed.		 Fancy : Single Ties Medium to full density sheared trees. Slightly less dense than Select with at least three good faces.
CHOICE [single ties] PREMIUM [bundles]
Choice : Single Ties Light to Medium density, natural or lightly sheared, with at least three good faces. Premium : Bundles High quality light to medium density trees, with at least three good faces. Occasional minor defects. 2-5 trees per bundle depending on height.
Note :
Virtually all our SELECT Grade trees and many of our FANCY Grade exceed the USDA Premium specifications and will match most competitor's top grade.

We also offer a very limited number of elite ULTRA trees. These are virtually perfect show case specimen trees without any noticeable flaws.

All our graded trees [except Standards] have numbered tags stating the grade and identifying the individual grader. Butts are painted with a colour code to define height.

 STANDARD [bundles]
Standard : bundles Natural light to heavy density trees with at least two good faces. Some defects.
2-6 trees per bundle depending on height.
